The Incredible Connection Between Emotions and Physical Pain

The Incredible Connection Between Emotions and Physical Pain

Life is an emotional roller coaster.

What if we tell you that the emotions you feel and the thoughts you think can have a direct impact on your physical health? Studies have shown that chronic pain might not only be caused by physical injury but also by stress and emotional issues. Also psychologists suggest that physical pain may function to warn a person that there is still emotional work to be done.

With more and more research showing that our thoughts and emotions have a direct effect on our bodies, now is the time to discover what your pain says about your emotional state.

  • Pain in Your Head

According to studies, emotional problems and stress are contributing to headaches and migraine. You might experience headaches when you are overly stressed with day-to-day occurrences. They might be your body’s way of telling you to take some time out and relax the pressure!

  • Pain in the Neck

Pain in the neck signifies the need to forgive. It may be forgiveness of another person or even you. Kinesiology experts say that our neck is carrying our “self-recrimination and guilt”. The pain you feel in this area, may be related to your inability to forgive yourself and that you are judging yourself too harshly. Be positive and go easy on yourself to solve the unpleasant neck pain.

  • Pain in the Upper Back

Lack of emotional support can manifest in upper back pain. Those who don’t feel loved and those who are not letting their emotions out can experience such pain. The feeling of love may help you get rid of upper back pain.

  • Pain in the Lower Back

Lower back pain may signify someone has financial worries. Just like being short of emotional support usually leads to upper back pain, the absence of financial support can put pressure and result in pain in the lower back area.

  • Pain in Your Hands

An inability to connect with others and lack of friends may be the cause of that hand pain. Working on making new friends might be your best path moving forward. Connections may just be the key.

  • Pain in Your Hips

The constant feeling of fear of change in the direction of your life and movement can results in pain and stiffness in your hips. Your sore hips may just be a sign that you are resistant to moving forward or making major decisions.

  • Pain in Your Knees

Knee pain  can be related to your big Ego and being overly proud of yourself. You may feel that you are carrying all the weight and that nothing will function properly without you. An overactive ego may lead to chronic knee pain. If you are having knee pain often, you may be giving yourself too much credit. It might be a good idea to work on being humble.

  • Pain in the Ankles

Ankles represent the ability or inability to receive pleasure. If you are trying to stay away from the pleasure that life brings you may have to deal with pain in your ankles. Allow yourself some pleasure, and stop running so fast from love. Use your free time to do whatever pleases you the most. Pleasure is good for your ankles!

  • Pain in the Feet

It may indicate that you need grounding. Too much negativity and not enough joy may be what is causing that chronic foot pain. You may want to try letting go of those negative feelings you are holding onto to get rid of foot pain.
